It's so hard to accept that your brother, your best friend is gone.We had so many good times together, playing music, or just hanging out at dad's. We had plans of getting together more that I could drive. We were going to go fishing and play music together. I'd give anything to see you again. I couldn't belive the news on september 2nd, when I learned I lost my best friend my brother. I remember the last time I saw you, dad and I met you at that gas station just for a few minutes. I remember giving you a hug and then leaving not knowing that I wouldn't have the chance to see you again. I'd give anything in the world to just give you one more hug and tell you that I love you. I know out of everything I gained a guardian angel, I love you Ross and miss you more than words can say.

              TWENTY-SIX CANDLES

Twenty-six candles shining so bright,

Arranged on top of a cake,

Decorations of blue with balloons everywhere,

For pictures we’ll never take.

Just one year ago, your eyes danced with joy,

When everyone gathered around.

Jokingly singing, ‘He’s ¼ century old!’

You replied with, ‘Who are these clowns?’

Twelve months ago, you turned twenty-five,

‘Thought you were over the hill.

Son, if we knew you’d never grow old,

We’d pray for time to stand still.

The second of September was our darkest day,

When we answered that damned telephone.

How does a parent ever accept,

Their child is forever gone?

Somehow we’ve made it, moment by moment,

Silently dying inside,

If tears filled an ocean and wishes came true,

Son, you’d still be alive.

We hold fast to memories, days of your youth,

Cherishing each smile that they bring.

What we would give if, just for this day,

We could hear your sweet voice sing?

On your twenty-sixth birthday, a first with you gone,

We’ll fondly remember our son.

Strumming your guitar in Heaven’s great band,

Thankful you won’t celebrate alone.

Smile on us often and send down your love,

As we struggle to get through the days.

‘Happy twenty-sixth birthday’ to our precious son,

Forever in our hearts you will stay.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR SON,

ROSS EDWARD PRICE

“Live life as if it were your last day.  Love, smile and cherish each other.  Hold onto faith and family.  Always remember that ‘final goodbye’ is but a blink of an eye.”
